Conical / Angle / Taper Roller Burnishing Tools
The conical / angle / taper roller burnishing tools are classified into a) Internal Conical Tools and b) External Conical Tools. These tools are used to burnish angle / taper / conical profiles where low surface finish is to be achieved. Almost all internal and external conical burnishing tools are made to order and hence there are no standards specified.

Technical Specification
Title | Description |
---|---|
Diameter Range | Internal Conical Tool: For internal conical tool the minimum minor diameter required for designing a tool is 5mm and above. There is no limitation in the maximum major diameter. However for practical purposes we have limited to a maximum major diameter of 50 mm External Conical Tools: For external conical tools the minimum minor diameter required for designing a tool is 3mm and above. There is no limitation in the maximum major diameter. However for practical purposes we have limited to a maximum major diameter of 40 mm |
Burnishing Length | The length of the taper surface to be burnished is taken into account for designing the burnishing length. |
Diameter Adjustment | No size adjustments can be made on the major and minor diameter of both internal and external conical tools. There is no adjustment provided on the angle also. The tools will be made to the exact specification as per the part sketch. |
Shank | Tool holding Shanks are available in Morse Taper (MT), Straight/Round, BT or any other as per the request. |
Job Material | Any Ferrous or Non-Ferrous item can be burnished. Normally ferrous materials with a maximum natural hardness of 35HRc are recommended for burnishing operation. Heat Treated jobs are not recommended. |
Machine Used | External diameter Roller Burnishing Tools can be fitted for use in any spindle driven machines. Normally these tools can be used in CNC Turning centers / Vertical Machining center / Conventional Lathes / Pillar drilling machines or any other Special purpose machinery. |
