External Diameter Roller Burnishing Tools
The External Diameter Burnishing Tools are available for burnishing a) Plain Shafts & b) Step shafts. The external roller burnishing tools are classified as EXT Series tools. For plain shaft burnishing EXT-R Series tools and for Stepped shafts EXT-F Series tools are recommended.

| External Diameter Range | The minimum external diameter burnishing range starts from 2mm and above. Though there is no limitation on the maximum diameter, for practical purposes we have limited the maximum tool diameter to 40mm.As a special requirement we have our customer using our internal diameter burnishing tool of 200mm. Single Roller burnishing Tools are recommended for burnishing external diameters greater than 50mm. Hydraulic operated centreless Outer Diameter Burnishing Machines are also available for burnishing diameters from 6mm to 60mm. |
| Burnishing Length | Tools with standard burnishing length are available to suit the regular applications. However tools with customized burnishing lengths are manufactured according to the part sketch. For burnishing extra long lengths in outer diameter the other available options include Single Roller Burnishing Tools and Roller Burnishing Machines |
| External Diameter Adjustment | The diameter of the external roller burnishing tool can be adjusted to a limited range for the purpose of setting the diameter initially. The adjustment range varies depending upon the size of the tool(see tool specification) |
| Shank | Tool holding Shanks are available in Morse Taper (MT), Straight/Round, BT or any other as per the request. |
| Job Material | Any Ferrous or Non-Ferrous item can be burnished. Normally ferrous materials with a maximum natural hardness of 35HRc are recommended for burnishing operation. Heat Treated jobs are not recommended. |
| Machine Used | External diameter Roller Burnishing Tools can be fitted for use in any spindle driven machines. Normally these tools can be used in CNC Turning centers / Vertical Machining center / Conventional Lathes / Pillar drilling machines or any other Special purpose machinery. External Roller Burnishing Machines are available for specific applications where consistency and volume are to be met. |
